FROM COUGAR TO COWGIRL
Congratulations to Stevie Burchell on her recent signing with Hardin-Simmons University. Stevie will continue her softball career on the collegiate level with the HSU Cowgirls. As a Cooper Cougar, Stevie lettered in basketball and softball. She was awarded numerous all-district honors, MVP Defensive Player of the Year, and Big Country Player of the Year. Stevie achieved academic success as well. She was named to the Academic
All-State team in both basketball and softball. Congratulations to Stevie on her future as an HSU Cowgirl.

COOPER BPA VOLUNTEERS
The Cooper chapter of Business Professionals of America recently volunteered at the Special Olympics annual track meet. The event was held on the campus of Abilene Christian University. COOPER ART AND PHOTOGRAPHY STUDENTS

Cooper High School art and photography students participated in the state Visual Arts Scholastic Event competition, held at the University of Houston. VASE is sponsored by the Texas Art Education Association. The competition begins at the regional level across the state of Texas with nearly 18,000 pieces being submitted for judging. Hannah Capra from Cooper High School earned the Gold Seal award, which is only awarded to the top 100 out of the approximately 1,800 pieces which advanced to the state competition. ONLINE TUTORING, BIG COUNTRY LIBRARY SYSTEM
Students can get free online tutoring for grades 4-12 in math, science, English and social studies at www.abilenetx.com/apl. This site is supported by the Big Country Library system and is intended to help students with homework. The site is available everyday from 3-10 PM (in Spanish from 3-9 PM) on Sundays -Thursdays.
