BEST is a non-profit, volunteer-based organization whose mission is to inspire students to pursue careers in engineering, science, and technology through participation in a sports-like, science and engineering-based robotics competitions. (see http://www.bestinc.org for more information) All team robots are constructed from identical sets of materials and must meet specific constraints. The object of this year's competition was to maneuver the robot up an incline, grasp a game piece and return back down the incline and place the piece in a scoring box. Team members that competed in Lubbock were: Drew Spencer, Marcus Andres, Chris Campbell, Mike McCarty, Josh Richardson and Grayson Hurst. Team coach is Mr. Evans.
