The Cooper Student Council, with the help of the student body, sponsors two children through World Vision. Once a month, Student Council holds "Metages and Lazaro Day" when Student Council members fast during lunch and donate their lunch money to the sponsorship fund. On this day, donations are also collected from the student body to help sponsor these children.

Lazaro lives in Nicaragua and enjoys PE and baseball. He helps at home by carrying water and wants to become "a good teacher".
